The Amazing Muffin Search by Susan Cornell Poskanzer

Introduce the Book The Amazing Muffin Search is a Disney book about the three children with Huey, Dewey, and Louie. The boys were taking a giant muffin to the local fair for grandma duck but giant muffin went missing. The thee young dicks need to start the investigation and go on a hunt to find where the muffin went.

Summary Huey, Dewey, and Louie are three ducks living on grandma ducks farm helping her around the farm. Grandma duck starts the story by recurring Gus Goose to help her create a giant muffin for the local fair. As they are putting the giant muffin in the oven chip and dale are eyeing the muffin and all the animals can smell it from the farm. After the muffin is done, Grandma duck calls Huey, Dewey, and Louie to help load it in the back of the pickup truck so they could drive it down to the fair. After they loaded the muffin, the three ducks needed a break so they relaxed with some lemonade. Leaving the muffin unattended and once they finished the lemonade. The muffin was MISSING! So the hunt begins, Huey, Dewey, and Louie search high and low for this muffin. I will not spoil the book for you, you will read the book to find out if they find the muffin and where did it go. But I will tell you that the grandma duck wins first place for the giant muffin competition.

Share Your Favorite Part My Favorite Part of the book is the hunt for the muffin when the three ducks take it upon themselves to search for the muffin that their grandmother worked so hard on. Huey, Dewey, and Louie feel really bad about leaving the muffin alone so go on the hunt to find it. This shows that ducks having initiative and looking for the muffin because it was there responsibility. The great storyline to the book that shows how the family is helping the grandmother win the award for the largest muffin and in the end with the help of the family she won first place.

Give a Recommendation I would not recommend this book for teachers or educators but I would recommend this book for a practice book for early readers. I could not see this book as a book for a lesson unless it is a cooking lesson. So a great book for an at-home bookshelf or a bedtime story. This is why I would not recommend the book for teachers to use in the classroom because there is no room for a lesson plan for the classroom.
